Join M. Gale's Minneapolis team as a Campaign Associate during an exciting period of growth, working directly with the Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia) on their transformative fundraising campaign. Reporting to our Senior Consultant, you will be the vital link between M. Gale, Mia's team, and their donors. 

 

While based locally at Mia, you will be an integral part of M. Gale's Fort Worth-headquartered operations team, upholding our commitment to exceptional client service and strategic excellence. Your role focuses on streamlining campaign operations, producing precise reports and materials, and ensuring seamless administrative workflow in a fast-paced environment. 

 

We are seeking a full-time, on-site nonprofit development professional with proven fundraising experience that is highly organized with outstanding relationship-building skills. The ideal candidate brings demonstrated success working with executives, boards, and donors, along with meticulous attention to detail. Your ability to systematize operations while maintaining nimble responsiveness will be key to advancing Mia's campaign goals within established parameters.  

 

The candidate should possess demonstrated experience working with nonprofit executives, boards, and donors with acute attention to detail. 

 

Core Responsibilities 

  • The Campaign Associate drives daily campaign operations for Mia while collaborating with M. Gale's Senior Consultant for Mia, consultants, and client staff.  

  • Support the comprehensive moves management process through the CRM system and manage prospects for the campaign within the system orchestrating donor strategies, documenting research, and solicitation planning with the Advancement Team.  

  • Key activities include maintaining campaign timelines, coordinating team calendars, meeting preparation, and producing regular progress reports that track cultivation and results. 

  • Provide direct support for all campaign-related activities for the client, working directly with the Senior Director, Consultants, and organizations’ staff members to implement the campaign plan. 

  • Coordinate team calendars for meetings; prepare and distribute agendas and as requested, organize individual donor visit coordination. 

  • Facilitate the distribution of regular progress reports, including results to date, recent activity, priority contacts to be made, and next actions. 

  • Support the design and printing of materials, reports, and presentations related to campaign activities. 

  • Support the creation of campaign donor pipeline lists.  

  • Utilize technology resources to track prospect cultivation and solicitation. 

  • Assist with the preparation of material for funding proposals and other fundraising correspondence, as needed. 

  • Assist with training volunteers for all campaign initiatives. 

  • Assist designated client volunteer leadership, team members, and committees with all support aspects of the fundraising activity including major gift packages, committee planning, meeting management, and documentation. 

  • Coordinate or conduct appropriate meetings to resolve questions, develop meeting materials, and brief cultivation partners well before prospect meetings. 

  • Coordinate campaign administration with the client, including reports reconciliation, gift acknowledgments, stewardship activities, campaign communications, and donor recognition.

  • Success in this role requires demonstrated experience in relationship-based fundraising.  

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively.  

  • Most importantly, the qualified candidate will bring a deep commitment to philanthropy and community engagement. 

  • The role demands strong project management skills to facilitate coordination and documentation of prospect meetings, steward donor relationships, and maintain campaign communications. 

  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively on a team; strong writing, revising, editing, and proofreading skills; and ability to maintain a high standard of accuracy and professionalism. 

  • Other duties as assigned or negotiated by M. Gale Leadership. 

Development Practices 

  • Understanding of the campaign fundraising process and relationship-based fundraising practices. 

  • General knowledge of all areas of the fund development process, beginning with acquisition and annual fund to major gifts to principal giving, planned giving and stewardship.  

  • Strong written and verbal skills, and ability to create and deliver written and oral presentations. 

  • Help ensure consistent client delivery and the production of materials and team resources. 

  • Well-developed social skills and ability to work within all levels of an organization.

Qualifications and Education Requirements 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, business, or liberal arts-related field. 

  • Experience: strong administration experience in nonprofit organization(s) with a preference with Arts and Culture Organizations.  

  • Comfortable in all types of social settings and able to interact with a wide range of constituencies. 

  • Strong design skills and experience with PowerPoint and other presentation technology.  

  • Knowledge of computer operations and software products, including Word, Excel and Outlook. M. Gale uses Microsoft 365. 

  • Must demonstrate strong writing skills. 

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends; travel as required to ensure client satisfaction and deliverables.
